White, Brown, Yellow

White, Brown,Yellow, is a performance that exists across video, spoken-word and installation. It poses the idea that one’s hybrid identity can serve as a useful tool for deconstruction of rigid labels that create and maintain social inequalities. In using the two different physical identities that I am generally associated with, this recorded performance aims to fight the perception that racial identity is monolithic.
